Swish, Click Click Boom

Dreadful...simply dreadful, what good could possibly come out this?

Corridor after corridor. Would the maze of insanity ever end?

Just as I was about to turn and run, never to look back upon this EVIL place, something peculiar, something different, something intriguing, something worth staying for, caught my ears and wouldn’t let go. It lured me in and trapped me in it’s snare with it’s deceptive tongue.

Swish, click click boom. Swish, click click boom. Over and over repeating it’s song rhythmically and perfect, never missing a stroke.

Closer. I must get closer. I must see it for myself.

Wasting no time, I quickly boosted my stride and obeyed the orders the sounds gave me...turn left, now right, next room...bingo.

There it was in all it’s glory. Slowly I crept toward it not sure what to expect. What is it? What does it do?

Then it caught me, again. The ball. It was red and smooth, almost big enough to fit your eye socket. Slowly noticing its surroundings the ball was propelling up a large chain, and in fact there was not one ball, but many, each as smooth as the next. Plop. The first ball was launched off the chain and onto a huge intertwined maze of sleek metal tubes. Down, up, left, right, it was never to be known where it would go next, until suddenly it ended at the bottom of the chain and began propelling it self up the rough links again as the process was repeated. Swish, click click boom. Swish, click click boom.

The crux of the machine was so attractive, yet the best thing that makes the whole thing even make sense, is that it ingenuously repeats itself, it never betters itself or lessens itself, it stays constant, nothing about it changes. Then in a moment of perplexity it hit me. It isn’t so bad after all.

Consequently ending my first memorable experience at the hospital.
